Dear Souls

As another School term draws to a close, I write to share with you that on the 21st of July, the bell will be rung for the final time at Devon School of Reiki. 

After initial guidance from Source and consequently huge consideration, I have decided that it is time to close the School.  As you know, it has been my ‘baby’ for the past 13 years and over that time I have witnessed it grow from strength to strength.  I have had the privilege of assisting what must now be 1000’s of students on their Reiki path, and am so incredibly proud of what it has become and of course of the beautiful team that support it. 

However, time is not linear and therefore crossroads such as these, unpredictable.  I have always known that a time would come when I would have to make this decision… and that time is now.  The world is changing.  I’ve changed.  We live.  We grow.  We evolve.  For me, it has always been about being true to that fact.  Listening, taking hard decisions but ultimately being and living my authentic self.   I know that by closing its doors with the huge amount of gratitude I have in my heart, it will allow me to fully step into a new chapter that has been beckoning for some time. My soul and spirit are ready to embrace my ‘elder’ being, experience and energies in a way that they now want to be expressed, so that I may continue to serve others in full authenticity.   

As with all endings, they make space for new and beautiful beginnings… In this I trust. 

Reiki teaching will always be a part of me.  It is me.  I do not doubt that.  I am excited to now create space to connect with the very essence, simplicity and purity of Reiki from the heart of who I have become, and to share that with the world and in community next year.  For now, I plan to take a break.  To cultivate what is becoming.  To focus on my calling towards Creative collaborations, projects and 121 containers.   

Many of you will now have read about or have the privilege to already know Céline, Becky, Georgie, Laurie & Lily.  Céline has been with me and a precious, integral part of the School for many years running our Plymouth Branch. Laurie, Becky & Georgie are more recent to join, and Lily is of course the owner of the beautiful new venue, The Forge in Totnes where the School was recently homed.  All of them hold a rare beauty and unique quality that, I have no doubt, will continue to help shine much needed light into the world through their various offerings.  My love & gratitude will always be with them.  Laurie, will continue to bring her invaluable magic as my Executive Assistant to support this transition and beyond.   

Please be assured that any students who are currently on their Reiki path with the School and who may be in case study stage, will continue to be fully supported by myself through to certification. Classes to honour the continuation of the school can be found on my website until I launch a new evolution of my Reiki training in 2026. Likewise, students who are wanting to continue their Reiki journey with other members of the team will still have that option, just under a different form.  Transitions such as these take time and since making the decision, it has been my intention to honour the process and all of those involved, through every step of the way.   The mailing list will now shift to that of SamanthaGoddard.com but of course, should you wish to unsubscribe there is always that option.  However, I truly hope that you will remain with me to venture into this new and exciting chapter.   

So how do I close 13 years of the Devon School of Reiki… as always, with gratitude.   

Gratitude to Reiki, to my Lineage & Ancestry, to my Teachers, to Mikao Usui & my Ascended Masters, to every student who has blessed this School with your presence, to my extraordinary team members present and past all of whom have played a massive part in this story, to my incredible son Arthur, priceless friends & family, and to my body and heart for gifting further depth of listening and leading me to the courage to take this huge leap.
